A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
IS HE FOR REAL?
He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…
Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.
He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .
But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.
I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.
If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?
5 out of 5 stars
If I could give it more, I would. At the 10% mark, I had that "I know I'm going to ignore my family and read all weekend" feeling (and that is pretty much what I did). This book was amazingly hot and incredibly fantastic!
At the beginning of the book, Remington seems so arrogant but I’m hooked and intrigued to learn more about him. I like Brooke, I feel like she’s really strong and somehow I can relate to her. I’m fascinated to learn more about Remy’s past as the story continues, he is so flawed and yet so desirable at the same time, and I can totally feel Brooke’s pain for him. The more I learn, all his raw emotion made me truly feel for him and I had a huge “I didn't see that coming” moment. The sexual tension is pretty high throughout and by the time they get to that very first sex scene, it is jaw dropping hot.
This is such a well written, and at times, intense book. I’m pretty sure I held my breath towards the end and was definitely on the edge of my seat. I got that "I am going to go into a mourning period when this book is done" feeling. I know I will be rereading this one again.
Katy Evans has a playlist for REAL on her website and in the book as well (at least in my Kindle edition). I highly recommend listening to it. Hearing the songs seem to make everything so much more meaningful, it's almost like they have a story of their own in relation to the book. It's like the songs themselves make you understand the characters even that much more. I made a playlist on Spotify, you can listen to them for free there.
I loved this book! LOVED IT!
